ScrumPilot
Launch Scrum Into Your Enterprise

The best way to get started with Scrum and introduce it to your organization is on-site, in-person consulting and training. If you are completely new to Agile and Scrum, seeking to implement Agile principles in your company, or improve team collaboration, we can help. Our expansive consulting and training services take you down the Agile path. ScrumPilot is a five-day seminar spanning multiple weeks as you move from stage to stage, and is comprised of on-site training, along with web and phone conferences. At the end you will know a better method of project management.

Stage One - Pre-Launch

Stage one prepares you for your Scrum implementation. During this four-hour web and teleconference, we'll work together so we gain an understanding of your goals, and customize ScrumPilot for maximum efficiency and impact.

Stage Two - Plan and Launch

Introducing Scrum
To form a solid foundation for Scrum in your enterprise, we begin with a discussion of what Scrum is and how it works. We'll discuss the priciples of agile development and how it differs from other practices, along with tools and metrics. We'll talk about:

Agile development and principles
What Scrum is how it works
Scrum roles and terminology
The benefits of Agile and Scrum
Getting ready for Scrum

Plan Our Release
Once we have our foundation we put our knowledge into action and plan our release. We'll:

Determine team capabilities, requirements, and roles
Create and prioritize the product backlog
Discuss agile estimating
Plan the release by breaking the backlog into iterations
Schedule the iterations using agile iteration planning

Plan Our First Iteration
Now that we have the big picture of our release complete, we get into the nitty gritty. In part three we plan our first iteration. The scrum master, team, and product owner comes together and works through a sprint planning session. In the sprint planning session we'll:

Create a sprint backlog and estimate user stories
Define "done" for each story
List tasks for each user story
Take responsibility for the tasks
Discuss how daily Scrums are conducted

Stage Three - Retrospective

Hold Our First Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective
Once our iteration is complete, we'll show the product owner our progress. Once that is complete, the team and scrum master discuss how the sprint went. During this part we'll cover:

Demonstrating the completed user stories
Gather feedback from the product owner
Add user stories to the product backlog
Update the backlog with the current priorities
Discuss how the sprint went, review the metrics, and discuss areas of improvement

Plan Our Second Iteration
Now that we have completed one full cycle, we take what we have learned and repeat the process. We'll,

Plan a second iteration, adjusting according to current priorities
Update our release plan and negotiate scope

Stage Four - Adapt and Tune

After performing two iterations together and one on your own, we'll work together for four hours via web, teleconference, and email to strengthen your use of Scrum.
